Bang Bang Shrimp

 

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Mayonnaise (I use Duke’s)

2 tablespoons Sweet Chili Sauce

1 tablespoon Sriracha Sauce

1 teaspoon Honey

Kosher Salt to Taste

2 tablespoons Cajun Seasoning or Old Bay seasoning

3 cups Panko Breadcrumbs

½ cup Buttermilk

1 large Egg

3 Green Onions, chopped (optional for garnish)

Oil for frying

1 Pound Shrimp, Peeled and Deveined

 Directions

1. In a bowl, combine Mayo, Sweet Chili Sauce, Sriracha, Honey, and Salt.  Stir together until combined and set aside. This is your Bang Bang Sauce.

2. In a bowl, combine cornstarch and Cajun Seasoning and stir to combine.

3. In a separate bowl, beat together the buttermilk and the egg until well combined, and set aside.

4. Pour the Panko breadcrumbs in a separate bowl and set aside

5. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture over the shrimp and toss to coat them well.

5. Dip the seasoned shrimp in the buttermilk mixture until coated.

4. Now dip the shrimp in the panko breadcrumbs ensuring that they are coated well.

5. Heat your oil to 350 degrees F.

7. Drop the shrimp in the oil, a few at a time, and cook until golden brown. Remove from heat and place on a plate with a paper towel to absorb any extra oil,

8. While the shrimp are hot, roll the in the Bang Bang sauce and coat them all well.

9. Sprinkle with chopped green onions (optional)
