Cracker Seasonings Tips

For BEST flavor and texture I recommend using 

    1. NABISCO Premium Soup and Oyster Crackers (9 oz bag) or the 11 oz box of Mini Nabisco Saltines or 3-4 sleeves of the regular size Saltine Crackers. 
    2. Another Brand that I found to be delicious is the Harris Teeter Brand Oyster crackers that come in a 12 oz box. 
    3. I have tested MANY oyster crackers (name brands and generic) and I had no idea that different oyster crackers could yield such different taste and textures. 
    4. This is my personal honest opinion and you may find one that you like better than what I recommend which is great!
  • While you do not have to bake these crackers I have found that the flavor is even better when I bake them at 275 degrees (F) for about 10 -15 minutes after I season them.  They do not need to bake long.

  •  I have used Sunflower Oil and they were equally delicious so if you do not have canola oil or do not prefer to use it than I recommend Sunflower Oil.  I cannot vouch for any other oil.


What You Will Need

1 Cracker Seasoning Pack

1 bag Oyster Crackers (9 oz)

1/2 cup Canola Oil or Sunflower Oil

Gallon Size Ziplock Bag


Pour Crackers in Ziplock bag

Pour Oil in a bag & toss to coat crackers

Sprinkle seasoning in bag & shake to coat

Shake bag occasionally for even coating (Best flavor after 24 hours)


Bake in the 275 degree (F) pre-heated oven for approximately 10-15 minutes)  Once you remove from the oven allow them to cool before storing them in a Ziplock bag or an air tight container

*You Can use mini or regular saltines instead
