These fluffy butter biscuits are everything a homemade biscuit should be—light, tender, buttery, and perfectly golden on the outside. Made with simple ingredients, they come together easily and bake up beautifully.

Ingredients
2 cups Self-Rising Flour
½ cup Grated Butter (unsalted or Salted)
¾ Cups Buttermilk (I prefer whole)
1 tablespoons Bacon Grease for the pan
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
Add 1 tablespoon of bacon grease to a cast iron pan and place in the oven to melt while the pan is heating
- In a bowl, add self-rising flour and grated butter together. If you are unable to grate the butter, you can dice it into small pieces and stir into the flour. It’s ok to have small chunks of butter.
- Add part of the buttermilk and stir together. Continue to add more of the buttermilk until you get a moist dough but not overly sticky.
Form into a large round circular dough about 1 and ½ inches thick. Using a round cutter, cut out round biscuits. Should get 6 biscuits
- Remove hot cast iron pan from the oven and place bisuit dough into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
