These chocolate chip cookies are a bakery favorite, packed with milk and semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Finished with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, they offer a delightful balance of sweetness and texture, making them a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients
1 Stick Unsalted Butter, room temp (114 grams)
⅓ cup Sugar, (75 grams)
½ cup Dark Brown Sugar, (128 grams)
2 teaspoons Corn Syrup (i.e Karo Syrup)
1 ½ tsp Vanilla Extract, optional
1 Large Egg
1 and ¾ cups AP Flour, (227 grams)
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
¾ tsp Kosher Salt
1 and ¼ cups Milk Chocolate, (225 grams), chopped from a bar or chips
1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate, (90 grams), chopped from a bar or chips
Flaky Sea Salt, (optional, for sprinkling on top)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and corn syrup together until combined.
Add the egg and beat until combined.
Add vanilla extract, if using, and mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together. Stir to ensure all ingredients are mixed well. See the notes below for how to measure the flour.
Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture and beat until just combined. DO NOT OVERMIX.
Add in the chopped chocolate and/or chocolate chips and mix until just combined.
Place the dough in a 10 inch cast iron skillet and bake at 350 F until golden brown. This may take approximately 18 minutes.
Optional, sprinkle a flaky sea salt on top of the cookies before putting them in the oven.
